Custom work needs more than a quick quote.

Because every Companion project is shaped around the space, the materials, and the people using it, we take the time to understand the full picture before anything gets built.

Our process is simple, thoughtful, and designed to make the work feel clear from the start.

How we work

  • A person's hand holding a thin piece of wood under a larger wooden surface, likely a table or shelf, with visible wood grain.

    Start with an inquiry

Tell us a bit about your project, your space, your timeline, and where you are in the process.

You do not need to have every detail figured out. A general idea, a few inspiration images, or a problem you are hoping to solve is more than enough to begin.

  • Wooden cabinets and shelves with a partial view of a framed picture and books. Light from a window creates a shadow across the cabinets.

    Let’s talk it through

If the project feels like a fit, we will set up a conversation to learn more.

This is where we talk through your goals, the space, the type of work involved, your budget, and what the next steps could look like.

  • Home office with wooden desk, orange chair, wall-mounted lamps, shelves, decorative framed art, mirror, and view into a bedroom.

    Plan before we build

Most custom projects need a planning phase before we can give an accurate final quote.

During this stage, we refine the design, define the scope, choose materials, talk through details, and build a realistic budget and schedule.

The goal is to make sure everyone is clear before construction begins.

  • Wooden bookshelf with various decorative items and books, including framed artwork, vases, a white bowl, black spheres, and a black and gold sculpture.

    Build with care

Once the plan is approved, we get to work.

Companion works with one client at a time, which means your project gets our full attention. We keep the job site clean, communicate clearly, and treat your home with respect throughout the build.

  • Interior view of a dining area with a round wooden table, black wire chairs, a wooden staircase, and a modern chandelier light fixture hanging from the ceiling.

    Finish well

    The final details matter.

We take the time to make sure the work feels complete, considered, and built to belong in your home. Every finish, transition, proportion, and detail is part of the final feeling.

A note on pricing

Because most of our work is custom, pricing depends on the size, scope, materials, details, and planning required.

If you are looking for the fastest quote or lowest price, Companion may not be the right fit. If you are looking for thoughtful planning, clear communication, careful craft, and work that feels made for your space, we would love to hear from you.
